Julia Maesa, grandmother of Elagabalus and Severus Alexander (died 224CE)

Julia Maesa, grandmother of Elagabalus and Severus Alexander (died c.3 August 224CE). Julia Maesa was the older sister of Julia Domna and grandmother of Elagabalus and Severus Alexander. She was responsible for the overthrow of Macrinus and the restoration of the Severan Dynasty. She died sometime early in the reign of Severus Alexander.
