Phocas (602 - 610 CE)

Phocas (27 November 602-5 October 610). Flavius Phocas Augustus was Maurice Tiberius’ general who usurped the throne and executed the emperor and his sons. He was overthrown by Heraclius after losing a civil war. Although he initially gained popularity, his later cruelties led to rebellions.
